The Dragon Bass Festival is an ancient tradition that dates back to 2010 in Shenzhen, a booming city in South China. The commercial Club Viva had booked our crew for a DNB night and within 15 minutes of nice liquid vibes they cancelled the whole shebang. So we rallied the gang and migrated to the legendary 25th Floor for a truly epic night of DNB.

This marks the first of our Dragon Bass EPs which will focus on different cities around Asia once per year. The idea, as with the Mettā Muzik LPs, is to give some shine to local producers who are making good music. We started out in Shenzhen and the city will always hold a special place our heart.

The EP brings old and new friends together for a diverse array of bass, from the deep roller of Eligo Kontent's debut, to the energetic neurofunk of FractalOne, the heavy halftime smasher from Sophistakid, and finally the raw, playful footwork of DJ Tayta.

In the spirit of mettā, 100% of the profits from this album are going to the Min Ai Disabled Children's Welfare Center in Shenzhen (www.min-ai.org). Happy Dragon Bass Festival!
